I have returned to Canada. I had a great time in Morocco and especially during the 4 days desert tour with your company. In particular, I would like to let you know that Hassan, our driver-guide, is excellent. He is a very safe driver, communicate well and very caring. We feel very safe inside the car. We can't imagine how the passengers feel in those Grand Taxi who are driving so dangerously. Also, we are always ahead of other tourists at various sights and we could take good pictures without the crowd. The nice hotel in Ouarzazate after our overnight stay in the desert is excellent, we were able to enjoy hot showers in the nice, clean private bathroom. I would definitely recommend your company to our friends who are planning to visit Morocco soon.

I will leave a positive review on TripAdvisor soon.

Thanks very much for the itinerary that you planned. We truly had a very enjoyable time and Hassan was great as a companion and guide throughout the trip; I do have to say the desert trip and the camel trekking in Erg Chebbi was definitely the highlight for us.

"Alex and I really enjoyed our tour. The itinerary was quite packed but we managed to fit in the things we most wanted to do. We were very pleased with the quality of the accommodation in Ait Benhaddou, and also the facilities and staff of the hotel from which we camel trekked into the desert. Our expedition to the desert and the surrounding villages were definitely the highlight of our visit to Morocco. Stunning scenery aside the trip was a real adventure and full of new and interesting experiences. In April 2007 my wife and I took a trip to Morocco. As it was our first time in Northern Africa we felt that having a guide would probably be the best way to go. Fortunately we were lucky enough to have Mbarek, or Bara , as our driver and tour guide. We had flown into Fes and had arranged for Bara to meet us at our riad at 6:30 am, as we had a lot of driving to do that first day! He was fantastic about picking us up at that early, and took great pains not to disturb any of the other guests in the riad in the process- not an easy feat, given the way sound travels in a riad. Our plan was to spend the next four days with him as he showed us the mid and high Atlas mountain ranges and then drove us down to the Sahara, before turning back and bringing us to Marrakesh . Over the course of those four days we found Bara to be warm and personable, though he also made a point to give my wife and I privacy whenever we stopped to eat or to go on site specific tours. Fortunately he was also very patient with us whenever we wanted to stop and take photos, which was very often considering we came back with over 900! Throughout our time together he was also genuinely happy to answer our million-and-one questions and to explain things along the way- everything from the landscape we were passing through to questions about Moroccan and Berber culture and traditions.

Bara was also fantastic under pressure. At one point our plans were thrown into disarray by the sudden flooding of a river we had to cross in order to get to the Sahara . Bara stayed calm and immediately began speaking with the local residents, and also got on the phone to one of his colleagues who was conducting a tour on the other side of the river to see if between them they could work out an alternate way to cross. In the end there was nothing to do but wait for the waters to recede, but even when that meant crossing the river at three other points further on- in water as high as the floorboards in the 4x4 we were in- Bara managed to keep a cool head and get us through! He was professional throughout and never panicked. The delays caused by the flooding meant we weren't going to be able to start our Sahara camel trek that evening, which was disappointing for me because I had my heart set on watching the sunset over the dunes and spending the night in the desert. Bara suggested that we could spend the night in a hotel and do our camel trek the next morning, but when I explained how much I wanted to spend one night in the Sahara he was very understanding. The next morning we woke up literally at the edge of the Sahara, but even so he didn't push us to do the camel trek and then move on, despite the fact that he was going to have several hours of driving ahead of him in order to make up for all the time we lost due to the floods. Instead he rearranged the itinerary so that we saw a number of things that we would have normally seen upon leaving the area, and then took us back to the Sahara so that we could do our camel trek that night. That was perhaps one of the best things about having Bara as out tour guide- and the quality that I think sets him apart from most other guides. At every point during our trip his guiding principle was making sure that we got what WE wanted to get out of our experience, and not what would have been easier for him! That, along with his adaptability and his enthusiasm in telling us about the geography and the culture of the areas we were passing through made Bara a fantastic guide. In fact, by the time we got to Marrakesh my wife and I were both a little sad to think we weren't going to be seeing him after that! We would whole heartedly recommend Mbarek and "Maroc Expedition " to anyone who is looking to have a professional yet personalized and authentic experience in Morocco!
